           Jerome was living in Theresa, Jefferson County, on 6 July 1870 with the family of Egbert and Caroline (-?-) Ball, working on Ball's farm. Egbert Ball household, 1870 U.S. census, Jefferson County, New York, population schedule, Theresa, page 42, dwelling 334, family 348; NARA microfilm M593, roll 945. Egbert was 48, born in NY, and his farm was valued at $6,270 and personal property at $2,000. His wife Caroline H. was keeping house, 48, born in NY, and had a foreign-born father. They had three children: Mary L. (19), George H. (9), and Ellen M. (6). Another woman, Caroline Collis [with a drawn through her surname] is listed after Sprague. She was 41, a widowed dressmaker, and was born in NY.

      On 7 June 1880, Charles and Anna lived in Forest Home township, Antrim County, Michigan. Charles was working as a farmer while Anna kept house. They had four children: Alice, Lewis, Bertie, and Charles, with the oldest two attending school.       On 1 June 1900, Charles and Anna were still living in Forest Home. Charles farmer and Anna took care of the seven children still living at home: Lewis, Albert, Charles, Earnest, Bessie, Earl, and Floyd. The three oldest boys worked as laborers and the other four children attended school. Anna had had nine children, with eight still living. (Chas.       On 2 May 1910, Jerome and Eliza Anna continued to live on their farm. In the ten years since the last census three more children had died. Bert, Floyd, and Bessie still lived with the couple, with Bert operating a horse farm.       On 6 January 1920, Gerome and Annie lived in Bellaire, Antrim County with their son Thomas. Neither Jerome or Thomas were employed at the time the census was taken.
